Hi Gemma,
Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for continuing to trust us with your vacation planning questions.
You are such a lucky duck; your Disneyland vacation is almost here! Even though you will be arriving after Christmas, the parks and resorts will still be decorated for the holidays. I hope you get some time to visit the hotels and check out their wonderful decorations. The tree and gingerbread display in the Grand Californian is truly an amazing sight!
Unlike Disney World, Disneyland does not offer
dining plans that allow you to prepay for meals and snacks for the duration of your trip. The dining packages at Disneyland and California Adventure include a meal along with reserved viewing for various nighttime entertainment offerings. Here are a few of the current dining packages offered during the holidays:
*
World of Color Dessert Party – World of Color Happiness! at California Adventure
*
World of Color Dining Packages – World of Color Happiness! at California Adventure
*
Plaza Inn Dining Package – A Christmas Fantasy Parade at Disneyland
*
Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace – “Believe… In Holiday Magic” Fireworks at Disneyland
*
Fantasmic! Dining Packages – Fantasmic! at Disneyland
The Fantasmic! Dining Package allows you to enjoy a three-course meal along with reserved viewing for Fantasmic! This dining package is available at Café Orleans, River Belle Terrace, and Rancho del Zócalo Restaurante. You can book this package online or through the Disneyland app. Café Orleans is the only location where the dining package must be secured in person.
The World of Color Dining Package is available at Storytellers Café, Wine Country Trattoria, and Magic Key Terrace. Keep in mind that the Storytellers Café option is dinner only and is located inside the Grand Californian Hotel. Wine Country Trattoria offers both lunch and dinner options and is located inside Disney California Adventure Park. Finally, Magic Key Terrace also offers lunch and dinner options, but this location is exclusively for Magic Key holders.
For all of these dining packages, I recommend
booking reservations directly through the Disneyland website, as it will take you specifically to the dining package options. When using the website, look for the indicator that says “Dining Event,” which helps distinguish these from standard dining reservations.
I recommend checking availability as soon as possible, as these are very popular options. If your ideal date or time isn’t available, don’t lose heart! Guests often adjust their plans, and reservations may pop up closer to your visit, especially the day before. Be sure to check the Disneyland app frequently, particularly the night before your visit.
I hope this information is helpful, Gemma. Please don’t hesitate to reach out again when planning any future Disney vacations. We here at planDisney are always happy to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your adventures.
Have a wonderful vacation!
