Hello Krystle!!!
What a GREAT question!!! A few years ago, my family went with another family to Walt Disney World. I will tell you we had a great time, but we followed these rules:
1. Plan Together! Schedule a night where both families eat dinner together and create a fun Disney Planning Night! Go to
www.disneyworld.com and/or order a free Disney World video
HERE to create the MAGIC for the night! If you plan together, then both families will be able to create their own perfect Disney Vacation!
2. Plan days (or half days) apart! We built in time for each family to just enjoy the park separately. This gave the kids a break from each other and allowed each family to make special memories on their own.
3. Be flexible! This is the biggest advice I can give you. If you are going on a Disney vacation with this family, they must be special friends. If that is the case, build in a "Flexible Clause" into your vacation. That means if your three year old is having a hard time because of exhaustion, then your family calls the "Flexible Clause" and goes back to the resort.
Being honest and setting ground rules BEFORE your Disney Vacation begins is going to make all the difference in the world. Don't wait until you arrive at your resort to start making decisions. We don't want to create a Disney disaster! We want to create Disney DREAMS!!!!
Hope this helps in your planning! If you have other questions, please let me know!
Have a MAGICAL day!
