Hi Kathy,
How exciting that you’re planning on a fall visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort! It will be a beautiful time to visit with your child, with the theme parks and resorts decorated for
autumn and special seasonal treats and events to help celebrate the spooky season.
You may absolutely purchase your theme park ticket at a different time than when you purchase other family members’ tickets. You may wish to do so to spread out the expense or perhaps need to determine the right ticket type for you before purchasing. Whatever the reason, Disney makes it easy to put together your own personalized vacation package.
The key to success and managing your plans is to always be logged into your
My Disney Experience account when
making ticket purchases or adding plans to your vacation. This way, they will automatically link to your trip and you can assign tickets to someone in your travel party while keeping everything organized in this digital hub. When making a resort reservation, the site will prompt you to purchase theme park tickets but you can either bypass this page without a selection or choose to buy just a subset of the total tickets needed.
Whatever you decide, I do recommend that you purchase your theme park tickets in advance of your trip and be certain to make
theme park reservations. This remains a critical step in visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, as a reservation for a specific day to visit a specific theme park is required. You can make a reservation once you have a ticket linked to your account, and you can do so one at a time until you’ve purchased all the tickets for your vacation. I like to take the
park hours,
special events, and my family’s priorities into account when making our exact theme park plans.
Please let us know what other questions you think of as you put together this special trip, Kathy. We love to help Guests make the most of these magical vacations, so don’t hesitate to bring additional tech questions or logistics inquiries our way.
Happy planning!
