Hello! I am planning to be in Disney World Oct. 31-Nov. 4. I didn't realize that was also the weekend of the wine and dine half marathon. How will that impact crowds, etc? I was hoping to schedule a trip during a less busy time of the year...

    Hello Stephanie!

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I am excited to hEAR about your plans for your upcoming visit. I personally love to visit the Walt Disney World Resort during runDisney events. You will find that Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend will only make your visit even more exciting! I just love to see the runners all around the Walt Disney World Resort wearing their medals and celebrating their accomplishments.

I ran the Walt Disney World Half Marathon this past January, and I must say that I did not notice a significant change in the number of Guests at the theme parks. However, if you are looking for a smoother visit, I recommend avoiding Epcot on the day of the half marathon, because this is usually where the race starts and ends, and this event takes longer than the 5K and the 10K. In addition, don’t forget that Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will also be taking place, and Epcot gets extremely busy on weekends with many Guests flocking to the park to try all the delicious foods from around the world. I would personally not change travel plans, but I recommend visiting Epcot during the week and other theme parks on Saturday and Sunday.

I hope this helps you while planning, Stephanie! Please come back to visit us real soon if you have more questions.

    Best magical wishes,
    Thiana
