We are planning on going to Disney World in June and we are trying get o decide between the. Polynesian and Port Orleans Riverside. Is there a difference in wait times for transportation between deluxe and moderate resorts?

Hi Christy! Both of the resorts you mentioned are great choices so it will come down to the budget more then anything.  The Polynesian is a deluxe level resort which means it will be closer to at least one park and it will have an extensive pool facility. You can easily take a boat launch over to the Magic Kingdom or the monorail right from the resort. To reach Epcot you can take the monorail and then switch at the Transportation and Ticket Center for the one that goes to that park. For the other two parks you need to take bus transportation.

Port Orleans Riverside is in a good location and is a moderate resort. You will find pools but not as extensive as the deluxe ones. The amenities are just a shade less but it is still all you will ever want and need during your vacation. You cannot walk to any parks but you will have bus transportation. NO matter where you stay on property the buses will all run about every 15-20 minutes to and from each park. At Port Orleans you will have access to using the boat launches to Downtown Disney making this area very convenient for the guests.

The only other consideration at this time I feel you need to know is that the Polynesian is having quite a bit of construction at this time. They are building new DVC properties so it is hard to tell you what kind of experience you will have considering the construction.  If you choose to be in a pool for many of the days of the trip the Poly pool is nice but then again you can always take a day and visit one of the great water parks on property, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.

You can't go wrong at either resort so it does come down to budget making the final decision for you!
