We are planning on going to Disney World during our Christmas break this year. in 2 weeks. I would like to know what or where would be the best theme park to go to? Are all theme parks having some Christmas festivities?

Season's Greetings, Mickie! Welcome to planDisney!

A holiday trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is just what Santa ordered! There's nothing quite like getting a little extra pixie-dusted cheer to make your Christmas especially merry and bright!

All of the theme parks will have special holiday themed décor and activities, but the Magic Kingdom Park is everyone's go-to (or should I say "glow-to"!) park for good reason. It's like a Christmas fairy tale come to life, especially after the sun sets and the holiday lights twinkle in the twilight. You should definitely try to see it!

Okay, we do need to do a little planning here, Mickie, because the holidays are understandably a very busy time of year at the Walt Disney World Resort. Disney requires each Guest to have a Disney Park Pass reservation before entering a theme park, so making them as soon as possible is an important step in your planning process. Taking a look at the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar, the Magic Kingdom Park is already completely booked up for the week you're planning to visit. But never fear, because we still have options! If you add the Park Hopper Option to your tickets, you can make a reservation for another park (I also highly recommend the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which is included in your park admission!), and then hop over to the Magic Kingdom Park in the afternoon. That gives you a wonderful chance to see the holidays in multiple theme parks, and to catch the awesomeness of the Magic Kingdom decorations in the evening!

You can learn more about how park hopping works on the Walt Disney World website. I truly believe it will be your best bet for this trip.

Mickie, it isn't just the theme parks that get into the holiday spirit! Be sure to check out some of the incredible decorations at the Disney Resorts Collection hotels while you're there. Two of my favorites are the larger-than-life gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and the five-story Christmas tree at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Both are a quick boat ride from the entrance to the Magic Kingdom Park, and are worth putting on your list!

I hope this helps you have a magical holiday at the Walt Disney World Resort, Mickie. Thank you so much for stopping by, and we'll see ya real soon!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
