hello , we are planning to be in Disney world at the beginning of November 2022. my 83 year old husband , our 10 year old daughter, and myself . I know that there is the Disney genie option, is there another option for fast line for the attractions ?

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

So there are two options that have replaced the FastPass program to get you a shorter wait time in line. Here is a quick description of both, so that you can decide which you want to use, and when.

Disney Genie+: If you pay to add the Disney Genie+ option, you can use the Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane entrances for a reduced wait time. You can choose the next available boarding time at any of the 40 attractions currently listed across the four parks. You book that next magical experience, and then get to enjoy some other activities in the park until your arrival time comes due. All guests, whether they are Disney Resort Hotel guests or not, can purchase the Genie+ program through their My Disney Experience App and then book their first attraction at 7 am that same day.

Individual Lightning Lane: These are typically 1 or 2 of the more popular attractions at each of the given parks where you can pay for an arrival window time. The prices vary, based on demand, and this can help you lock in that "Must Do!" experience that was at the top of your bucket list. You can purchase these, even if you are not using Disney Genie+. These are also purchased via the My Disney Experience App. If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel you can make an Individual Lightning Lane purchase starting at 7 am the day of your visit, while other guests can start ordering when the park opens.

So, there are two ways to get into the faster lightning lanes. One way, Genie+, works much like the old FastPass, but all through your phone, and for a flat daily rate. The second, Individual Lightning Lanes, also work through your phone, but are for just a few select rides, and are on a per-ride basis.

Really your best bet is to decide, on a day-by-day basis, if you want to go with Genie+ or not. Similarly, since the Individual Lightning Lane program is not tied to the Genie+ service directly, you can decide if any of those attractions are ones where you want to secure your boarding pass. Personally, I like to have Genie+ every day of my trip, regardless of what park I am visiting. Even on days where I am not trying to ride a ton of attractions, it just saves me time in line, and lets me spend more of my day enjoying the ambiance of the parks. As for the Individual Lightning Lanes, sometimes I really want to experience a specific star attraction, so I will go ahead and book one. On other days, I am glad to just enjoy other attractions.

    BONUS TIP #1
These Lightning Lanes do not mean that you can only ride an attraction if you have Genie+ or an Individual Lightning Lane reservation. There are still traditional lines at all attractions.

    BONUS TIP #2
If you visit the web page for Genie+, you can see what attractions are in the Genie+ Lightning Lane and Individual Lightning Lane programs, so you can plan out your days. These can change over time, so be sure to check before your trip.

Please feel free to write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.
