Hi, Irene!
Congratulations on your cruise next year on the
Disney Wonder to Alaska -- my family and I sailed this itinerary this summer and were stunned by how the experience enriched our lives. We knew that the scenery was going to be beautiful and the adventure unlike anything we had ever experienced. Yet, we came away with such an appreciation for that unique area of the world -- its amazing wildlife, hospitable people and breath-taking surroundings.
You may be interested in the videos we shot while on our voyage. Take a look at
Disney Cruise Line's YouTube Channel to see the 7-day Diary of my trip with my husband and four children. That will give you a first-hand look into what to expect and some of my best tips, too.
In terms of packing for Disney's Alaskan cruise, you need to think "Southern winters." You won't need any heavy ski clothes or snow boots, but rather dress in layers. You may need one set of long underwear, several pairs of rugged pants like jeans or khakis and top layers like a sweatshirt, long-sleeved tee or sweater. Your outer layer should be weather-resistant or waterproof like a rain jacket. You won't need a big, heavy parka or snow jacket. Make sure you bring a couple of pairs of walking shoes like tennis shoes or lightweight boots. And for Disney's 7+ night cruises, throw in a few dress up clothes for the formal and semi-formal nights. Oh, and don't forget binoculars and lots of memory and batteries for your cameras!
I hope that helps you plan, and let me know if I can help you with anything else. Be prepared for an incredible journey! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation.
Bon voyage,
Andi
