I am planning a disney vacation for my 2 year old son. I am between the wilderness lodge and animal kingdom resorts. Any thoughts as to which might be better for a 2 year old? I am hoping to stay somewhere that offers various activities on site or near.

    Hi Maria Jose!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

My favourite resort is Disney's Wilderness Lodge - in such a beautiful setting with a wonderful pool and beach area, overlooking Bay Lake, and only a short boat ride to the Magic Kingdom park.  The lobby is breathtaking, and there are organised activities during the afternoon by the pool, and sometimes in the lobby for young children.  The Whispering Canyon Cafe is a lively, fun, restaurant, will lots of entertainment for children !  You are also neighbors with Fort Wilderness Campground - where you can enjoy Chip 'N' Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long, and Mickey's Backyard BBQ.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is also a spectacular resort, and if you are staying in a savannah view room during your stay, you may also catch sight of the animals out on the savannah late at night as there is a very low light, over the area.  If your son has extra energy during the evening, Night Vision goggles are available at the Uzima savannah overlook between 8pm-11pm nightly, weather permitting  There will be Cast Members on hand to assist with the goggles. You also have Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park on hand, with plenty to offer young children.

I think you will be very happy with either choice, if I can help you further with making your decision, please send me a direct question - I would be very happy to help you!
