Planning our 1st Disney vacation Sept 15-21 (kids 8,9 and 17). I am wondering how to plan which parks on which days and how many days to spend at each park? We maybe planning to do the halloween party. This gives 6.5 days, please include parades fireworks.

    Hello Cynthia,

How exciting to be planning your first trip to Walt Disney World, which is so fun and a bit overwhelming all at the same time!

One of my favorite hints to simplify the planning is an incredible website:  www.touringplans.com.  It truly does the planning for you by offering information on which specific dates to visit parks and to avoid them; wait times for attractions; and most importantly, over 100 well-planned itineraries for guests to use to keep their waits in line as short as possible while seeing as much as possible.  And if you have a smart phone, they even have an app.  Just open (or print) the itinerary that best matches your needs for the day and just follow it step by step.  Super easy!

I should note that there is a small fee for this service, but one that I think is worthwhile. These folks really know their stuff and have researched everything thoroughly.  They don't offer any advice without having thoroughly tested it out themselves first. After taking a peek at the website if you'd prefer to go another direction with planning, please let us know.  We'll be happy to help.

Since you are visiting for 6 days, an easy plan is to spend an entire day at each park first. Then, you can have a day to sleep in, enjoy the pool, and visit Downtown Disney. Then for the remaining day and a half you can go back to visit favorite attractions/parks.

By the way, just checking if you are planning on dining at any of the table service restaurants.  If you are, you can begin making reservations now and may want to do that since many restaurants book up quickly.  As you continue your planning, please let us know if we can continue to help.  We are happy to do so!

    Have a magical trip!
