We are planning a Disney vacation for November 2020. There will be about 14-19 people going. If only one person purchases the Memory Maker, will we be able to share each other’s photos or does every family need to buy a Memory Maker?

    Hi, David!

What a great question! Thanks so much for sending it to us at Disney Parks Moms Panel!

My family often travels to Walt Disney World with extended family and friends, so I know that the memories you are going to make with your large group will be epic! When going on a trip such as that, we'll purchase Memory Maker so that everyone is captured enjoying the magic throughout the parks and resort hotels. (Be sure to make that purchase at least several days prior to arrival in order to take advantage of that great Advance Purchase discount. This will also give you time to set up your account as you'd like; more on that below.)

We sometimes split up into smaller groups for an attraction or two, but all come back together for the majority of the day, for dining, and at day's end. With that one Memory Maker, you have access to photos of everyone's adventures, even if some chose to face the falls of Splash Mountain (get ready to laugh at the photo taken at the top of the hill!) and others opted for the milder Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. (You definitely want to see the magic of Memory Maker on that attraction!)

Because I'm the planner in the group, I'll make the purchase and arrange details so that we are all linked to that one Memory Maker package.
To do this, set up your My Disney Experience account, and be sure that others in your group have done the same. You can then invite them to join your Friends & Family List, which is accessible under the "My Disney Experience" tab on the Walt Disney World home page. Once linked, you'll have the option to choose which plans and photos each Guest in your group can see. Be sure to check that you are sharing plans as well as the box entitled "My Disney PhotoPass Photos".

In addition to being able to get everyone in those special photos in each park, Disney PhotoPass Service photographers can capture magical moments that we simply cannot create with our cameras or smartphones. Magic Shots, Dining Photos, and even those tricky nighttime pics, are all expertly captured with ease, so you'll be able to look back on the fun for years to come.

Once a photo is taken, just have one member of your group use their MagicBand or PhotoPass card (available from any PhotoPass photographer) to add the image to their account, and you'll be able to see it soon in your My Disney Experience--including on your smartphone if you've downloaded the super-handy My Disney Experience mobile app. Then, share away!

Enjoy planning your fun-filled trip, David! Be sure to send us more questions as you think of them, too. We love to help!
