Hello, I am planning a Disney vacation in November 2021 through the Disney site under vacation packages. How can I book the character dining at the same time or is that not guaranteed/cannot add to the package?

    Hi Elyse,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for visiting us with your great question about Advanced Dining Reservations.  My family and I love character dining, we try to fit in as many special dining experiences as possible during our visits to Disneyland Resort, they are so much fun!

Your Disneyland Resort Vacation package will include a Disneyland Resort Hotel stay as well as Theme Park Tickets.  If you would like to add some Dining Reservations, Advanced Dining Reservations are able to be booked up to 60 days in advance and tend to fill up quickly.  I recommend being online as soon as possible when your 60 day window opens to secure some of the more popular Dining Locations.  Advanced Dining Reservations typically open at 7 am PST but the time is always subject to change.  Be sure to have already logged into your Disney Account, I find I have better luck securing my reservations using the Disneyland Resort Website rather than the Disneyland Mobile App.

Since dining isn't included in your vacation package, what I like to do is purchase Disney Gift Cards prior to my arrival and use the gift card to pay for my meals.  For me it feels like they are pre-paid since I already have the cards and it isn't coming out of pocket.

I hope you have a magical time at Disneyland Resort this November, Elyse.  If you have any other questions, please come back to us here at planDisney, we are always happy to help.
