Planning a disney vacation for 3 grandkids ages 4 , 6 and 8, mom and dad, and gramma and papa. Looking for suggestions as best place to stay for this age group as for convenience without breaking the bank.

Hi Judy! I am also a grandparent and I love my trips when the three generations can come together and enjoy the Disney magic. The memories are priceless!

With the number of your group you will be looking at at least two rooms. For a family of five the choices get slim but would highly recommend the Port Orleans Riverside Resort. It is conveniently located near most of the theme parks so transportation takes only 15-20 minutes by bus. It is also connected by boat to the great Disney springs area where you can enjoy wonderful dining and entertainment and shopping. This resort is in the moderate category and they do have rooms that sleep five. You can request connecting rooms too if that helps but of course they cannot guarantee that but get you as close as possible when you have family reservations.

The Deluxe resorts would require two rooms so that can be costly. Their locations to the parks are of course the closest. The Fort Wilderness cabins are wonderful but the maximum for them is six people. The two bedroom DVC villas will fit the entire family but often they are booked ahead of time by DVC members. It is worth a call to see if anything is available and to see what the cost would be before making your final decision.
