Hello Amanda!
Welcome to
planDisney! Thanks for sending your question our way. Before you know it, the holiday season will be here, so I'm glad you're thinking ahead. Let's talk about visiting
Walt Disney World during the most festive time of year.
The week between Christmas and New Year's is one of the year's busiest travel times, and the theme parks will be bustling with activity. I understand wanting to secure your spot in the parks, but you actually can't make
theme park reservations with a date-based ticket. The system will not allow it. Your best bet is to arrive in the morning at the theme park of your choice each day. If any of the parks suspend entry for new Guests, it will likely be temporary, and the
My Disney Experience mobile app will alert you to operational updates like this throughout the day.
Even though you can't reserve a theme park during your stay, consider purchasing a few
Lightning Lane Single Passes or Lightning Lane Multi Pass to bypass long standby lines for select experiences. My family used this during our summer trip, and based on our experience, I suggest securing Lightning Lane Multi Pass for
Magic Kingdom Park and
Disney's Hollywood Studios, plus Lightning Lane Single Passes for
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and
Avatar Flight of Passage. Otherwise, taking advantage of
Early Theme Park Entry is another way to limit waits at your favorite attractions. I also recommend booking a late afternoon table service meal to escape the crowds and give your feet a rest during the busiest time of day.
Amanda, I hope this is helpful and you have a fantastic year-end celebration at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Please reach out again if there is anything we can do to make your vacation even more merry. Thanks again for stopping by planDisney, and happy holidays!
