We are planning a Disney trip September 2014 for our daughter's 18th birthday, I would like to know when I would be able to book this?

    Hi Linda!

Wow, what an awesome way to celebrate your daughter's birthday! I can't think of a better place to be than Walt Disney World when it comes to celebrating important milestones and events.

To answer your question, it's been my personal experience that you can start making online vacation reservations about a year out from the current date (depending, of course, on the time of year). If you want to make "room-only" reservation, you can usually take care of those about 16 months in advance and then change them later (to include theme park admission, dining, etc.) as the pricing becomes available.

Now, I've got some good news for you! I just spoke to my boss, Mr. Mouse, and he said that the 2014 rates and online packages for the time you're looking to visit would be available around July 10th. So, check back in a few days and you should be able to take care of everything you'll need.

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

The cast members at Walt Disney World do a phenomenal job of making guests feel extra special on their birthdays. When you book your vacation, make sure you make note of the fact that your daughter will be celebrating her birthday because you never know what surprises may be in store for her.

Also, make sure she snags one of the pins that says she's celebrating her birthday. You can get them upon check-in at your resort hotel or at the guest services locations in the theme parks. It's so cool to watch random guests and other cast members wish everyone a happy birthday as they stroll around the parks and resorts.

I hope that helps! If you should have any further questions, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
