Planning Disney trip for 8/27-9/3/2014. Labor Day is 9/1. How are crowds usually Labor Day wkd? What parks would you suggest for Sat, Sun and Mon. We have hopper and wp&m. Should we avoid parks one of the days and do d/t disney or quest?

    Hi Kim:

As a popular destination, Disney World tends to be crowded just about most of the year round.  But the Parks tend to be less crowded when schools are in session.  I find that Disney World isn't overly crowded Labor Day weekend because many schools, or their sports programs, are already back in session during the weeks before Labor Day.  Schools in the North East tend not to open until after labor day, however, many people finish their August vacations or at least return home by Labor Day.

I don't believe the Parks will be so crowded Labor Day weekend that you feel that you should be in Downtown Disney.  You may find that Magic Kingdom will be the most crowded of the four Parks on Monday of Labor Day weekend as the last summer visitors try to squeeze in the Magic Kingdom one last time before end of summer.  So I would hit Magic Kingdom on Saturday or Sunday and another Park on Monday of Labor Day.

    Enjoy your vacation.
