I am planning on going to Disney next year, but I am trying to figure out the best time, my kids' get out of school last week in May and I was either thinking 1st week in June, Thanksgiving week, or 2 week in February.

    Hello Jennifer!

To pull kids out of school, or not to pull kids out of school, that is the question. I ask myself this question all the time, especially as my children are getting older. The factors I usually base my decisions on are budget, crowds, and weather.

Regarding budget, the second week of February will be the least expensive option, followed by June, and then Thanksgiving week. As far as crowd levels, they follow the same pattern. February will be least crowded, followed by June, then Thanksgiving week. Weather will be about the same in February and Thanksgiving. It can be cool or warm and layers are recommended as it is usually chilly in the mornings and evenings. June will be hot, perfect for swimming and water parks.

Tie breakers may come in the form of special events. If you have Star Wars fans in your family, then you won't want to miss Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios the beginning of June. Darth Vader, and Stormtroopers, and Jedis..oh my! It is also hard to beat the beauty of Christmas and holiday decorations during Thanksgiving week. Cinderella Castle glistens with icicles, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party delights Guests of all ages, and the gingerbread decorations and giant Christmas trees in Disney Resort hotels are breathtaking.

Good luck with your decision! No matter which date you choose, you will make many magical memories. Have a fantastical vacation!
