Ahoy Judith –
Thanks for visiting with us here at the Panel and way to go with planning a Disney cruise next year! At
Disney Cruise Line, there is truly something for everyone, and your 3-year-old niece will love her time onboard. I have sailed while pregnant, nursing a baby, with an infant, toddler, and preschooler, and Disney takes care of all the little details so that children (and adults) at every stage of life can find something exciting to enjoy. The
Verandah Staterooms are thoughtfully appointed rooms with whimsical details that will make your family very comfortable. Although the railings on Verandah balconies look as if a little one can slip between them, that is not possible due to the clear plastic covering over the rails which provide a seamless view of the ocean. Some Verandah balconies are called a
Navigator’s Verandah because they have a deck that is enclosed with an exterior view of the ocean or a closed window. We have sailed in a Verandah room with a toddler, and though he was fascinated by the ocean waves, he was not able to climb over or slip through. He also was not able to open the balcony door without assistance due to a safety mechanism. I am sure that your niece will do fine in a Verandah Stateroom, Judith. Thanks for coming to see us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and we hope you have happy cruise planning!
