Ahoy Tracy –
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and congratulations on your first Disney cruise! I will never forget my first cruise with
Disney Cruise Line because I was introduced to a level of service and quality in vacationing that was truly “unforgettable” for me. Your pirate crew will have the opportunity to savor fine cuisine daily, meet the lovable Captain Mickey along with Minnie and the gang, dance away their cares at fun deck parties, enjoy Broadway style entertainment and exciting family activities on your voyage this summer. The motion of the ship may or may not affect the members of your pirate crew depending on many factors. Usually staterooms that are
Midship feel the least amount of motion while the
Aft section may experience some motion. Not everyone develops motion sickness, and there is truly no way to know that ahead of time. In my family, I am the only one who gets sick, which is funny because I love cruising the most. My daughter will sometimes feel a little light-headed while dining in
Animator’s Palate which improves if she takes a walk to the Lobby Atrium midship. I find that a prescription motion sickness patch is helpful for me, and I am still able to enjoy every meal and dance party on board. You may want to visit with your doctor to see if this is appropriate for you. There are also several other types of motion sickness pills available by prescription only as well as over the counter (sorry, that’s the doctor in me) if you do not like patches. The
Health Center will have motion sickness relief medicines available for guests in case you run into trouble. Tracy, I hope you enjoy your cruise planning and thanks for visiting us here!
