Welcome aboard, Seema! My family and I love the
Very Merrytime Cruises with Disney Cruise Line!
One of our favorite events is decorating gingerbread houses with the pastry chefs! Usually it'll be listed early on and you'll need to pre-register for it onboard, but there isn't an additional cost. The gingerbread house helps spice up the decor in our stateroom and provides a very delicious scent, adding to the Christmas magic of the cruise. And speaking of delicious scents, just wait until you walk through the atrium where the life-sized gingerbread house will be built. Oh, the heavenly scent of that wafts throughout the atrium!
I don't know how old your kids are, but when mine were under ten, one of their favorite Very Merrytime events was the Deck the Deck Tropical Party. We still love attending now that they're older, but back then, they'd even get pulled up on stage to do the limbo under huge candy canes with their favorite Disney friends! And if you want great Christmas Card photos, bring your Christmas attire and get some photos with Mickey and his pals in their Christmas outfits at the
Character Greetings! You also don't want to miss Mickey's Tree Lighting Magic Ceremony the first night. Arrive early because one lucky child is chosen ahead of time to help light the tree!
Sure it'll be December, but the weather in the Bahamas and Caribbean will still feel summer-like! But, don't forget to pack a few layers, including a light jacket or sweater to keep with you. Days at sea bring cool breezes out on deck, and it does get chilly at night. I also tend to be cold inside the ship, no matter what time of year we sail, in the theaters and restaurants, so I always have an extra layer with me just in case.
Have fun planning, Seema!
