Ahoy there, Catherine,
Thank you so much for sailing by planDisney with your Disney Navigator app question! How exciting that you’ll be traveling with a large crew! Last year, we set sail on the Disney Wish for my daughter’s birthday during Halloween on the High Seas with 20 family members, and let me tell you, it was spooktacular! From trick-or-treating in the atrium to watching fireworks at sea together, it will forever be a core memory.
Now, let’s chart a course for your question. While not every single member of your party must download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, I highly recommend that at least each adult has it (or access to it). Once onboard, the app becomes your personal first mate, helping you:
- See your rotational dining schedule and menus
- Check your daily calendar of activities and entertainment
- View all of your pre-booked Port Adventures and onboard fun
- Receive reminders so you never miss things like character meet-and-greets or Bingo
- Use the onboard chat to stay connected with family and friends anywhere on the ship
On our big family voyage, the chat feature was priceless. We used it constantly to let everyone know where we were headed, whether that was to meet in the Grand Hall for a group photo or what time to sit together for the show. And since not everyone in our group had an iPhone, the app was the easiest way to keep everyone in the loop.
That said, if someone in your crew isn’t tech-savvy, no worries! On our trip, my father-in-law happily let my mother-in-law handle the app. She kept him updated on the day’s plans and told him exactly when to report for pirate night or a family game night. As long as one person in each smaller group has the app, everyone can still enjoy smooth sailing.
Catherine, I hope this helps you get ready for your magical voyage! I can already picture you and your crew making unforgettable memories. If you have any additional questions, feel free to visit us again.
See ya real soon,
Christina
