We are planning a disney cruise for April 2011. I get vertigo and motion sickness. I'm scaried to book the cruise because I am very concerned that I will be sick the whole time. Any tips on what I should do because my children really want to go?

    Hi Melissa,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Isn't it funny how kids have a way of convincing us to do things we wouldn't normally consider!  I understand your concern, and my first suggestion would be to talk to your doctor.  Since each individual is different, your doctor will be able to look at your specific situation and advise you on this decision.

If you do decide to go ahead with the cruise, maybe you want to consider a 3-4 night voyage rather than the 7-night.  If all goes well on your shorter "practice" voyage, while onboard stop by the "future cruise" desk to book your next cruise at a discounted rate.

I would also suggest booking a room on a mid deck, such as decks 5 and 6, and choose a room that is in mid-aft (back) of the ship.  In my experience these rooms offer the least amount of motion.

    Good luck with your decision!
