We are planning to do disney on a budget, but are planning to make dinner reservations and are with a large group (11 total). I have a friend who is a travel agent with disney. How much of a cost difference is there to book with a travel agent?

    Hi Sarah,

There are plenty of Disney-savvy travel agents out there who will not charge you a dime for planning your Walt Disney World vacation.  If I were you, I wouldn't pay anything extra to book your trip through your friend.  In fact, a good travel agent will save you money on your booking.  He or she will know when special promotions are available and keep you apprised of these money-saving offers.  If a new relevant promotion is released, even after you've booked your trip, they will alert you so that you can revise your reservation to reflect the new offer.  This could potentially save your family hundreds of dollars.

May I add one additional piece of advice?  One thing to keep in mind when you are traveling with a large group is the importance of booking your table service meals in advance.  It's often quite challenging to find a table for 11 at the most popular restaurants if you haven't called (407) WDW-DINE in advance to save your spot.  Check with your travel agent to see if he or she will assist you with your dining reservations.

Have fun planning your trip, Sarah, and let us know if there's anything we can do to help you organize a truly magical vacation.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
