We are planning on dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern around 6:30 p.m. on the night when MVMCP is scheduled. After dinner, will we have to leave MK or are we allowed to browse the shops on Main Street, USA? I know that we cannot ride any attractions.

Oh, Melissa, you’re going to love the food at Liberty Tree Tavern! The mood and feel of Liberty Square is something I love. It makes me hungry for the Sleepy Hollow Nutella Waffle and ready to ride Haunted Mansion!

I’ve been in this exact situation before, spending a day at Magic Kingdom, but without tickets to an evening party. In my case, we had dinner in Fantasyland, and then started to make our way to the front of the park around 7:00pm. Cast Members will have roped off several areas of Magic Kingdom park, leaving walkways for you and other guests without party tickets towards the front via selected pathways. It’s easy to glide into the Emporium for a short shopping spree, if Cast Members haven’t already started to exclude non-party goers. There is a point, near the official start of the party, where guests who do not have a party ticket will be denied entrance to stores, rides, and in some late cases, restrooms deep in the park. This is all in an effort to be fair to guests who have paid for the special event.

While Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a glorious, seasonal treat, I understand not wanting to buy tickets if your kids are very little. Early bedtimes impede the late-night fun and snow on Main Street, U.S.A. I hope that you enjoy your day at Magic Kingdom park, and feel every bit of magic that’s built in! ~ Lindsey P.
