We are planning dinner at Chef Mikey then viewing the fireworks from the Polynesian resort. I want to plan enough time to enjoy diiner, tavel by monorail to the poly and not feel rushed. What time should we get our dinner reservations. Thank you.

Hi Carrie! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The evening that you are planning at Chef Mickey’s for dinner and then watching the Wishes nighttime spectacular sounds like a truly magical evening. If you time allows try to catch the Electrical Water Pageant also. This is such a neat little water parade and you can get a great view of it from the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.

It is hard for me to pinpoint an exact time for your dinner reservation. Without knowing the exact day I wouldn’t be able to look up the time for the fireworks or the water pageant. What I will say is that when dining at a restaurant with Characters, I try to a lot for approximately two hours at the meal. This is to make sure that we don’t feel rushed and don’t miss any of the Character interactions. One you are done with the meal depending on the time of day, you may find that the Monorail may be a bit busy transporting a lot of guests to a lot of different locations. I would allow for a minimum of 30-45 minutes of travel time to get you to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. You can check the calendar in your My Disney Experience App for the scheduled time of Wishes and then make your dining reservations from there.

I hope that you have an Unforgettable evening!
