Hello James, and welcome to planDisney.
I am so happy you've stopped by with this question. In fact, I'm currently at Walt Disney World Resort, where the beautiful Christmas tree at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is still shining brightly, and there are still festive touches all around Magic Kingdom today. James, I have a feeling you and I must be Christmas peas in a pod because I'm already planning my holiday trip for 2025, too. It's NEVER too early to plan a vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Last year, I was at Walt Disney World Resort having a holiday feast at
Liberty Tree Tavern the day before Thanksgiving, and the week before Christmas, I returned for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. So, I totally understand why you are asking this question. My quick answer to your question is both weeks will probably have about the same crowds. The week of 11/30-12/7 will probably be busier at the start of your trip with "leftover" crowds from Thanksgiving. (I know-pun intended) I think the week of 12/7-12/14 will probably have higher crowds towards the end of your trip, as it does get busier the closer you get to Christmas. So, pick the week that works best for you. I don't see one of these weeks being much different than the other. If you are concerned about crowds, I highly recommend Lightning Lane passes. It is a true time saver any time of the year.
James, I'm not sure if you've visited during the holiday season before but I ho-ho-hope you'll want to take advantage of all the festive fun.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party comes complete with a Christmastime parade and a holiday fireworks show, which is one of my personal favorites. At EPCOT, you'll unwrap holiday spirit at the International Festival of the Holidays. World Showcase features a global culinary adventure of foods from all over the world, and what kind of planDisney panelist would I be if I didn't mention the Holiday Cookie Stroll? I cannot sugarcoat enough how yummy these cookies are.
I hope this helps with your planning. As you start thinking about where to stay, where to dine, or which of those
EPCOT Christmas cookies are the best, stop by planDisney anytime.
May your days be magic & bright-and have a happy new year!
