Hi there, I am planning for a 5 days vacation to Disney world for birthday celebration. Is it enough? Also what are the “must do” in Disney world? The tentative plan for the trip is March 2024.

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

Is 5 days enough at Walt Disney World? The answer is both yes and no.

    Why No?
If you stayed for weeks on end, you likely would still not have checked everything off the list of things to do. Even with 2 weeks of never-ending fun, you might have still not taken surfing lessons at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, gone scuba diving at EPCOT Seas Adventures – DiveQuest, seen every live show, and had the chance to ride each attraction. The beauty of Walt Disney World is that it will be here for a return visit, and there are always new experiences awaiting you!

    Why Yes?
Five days should be more than enough to experience much of what Walt Disney World has to offer. The list of "Must Do" attractions really changes based on your preferences and traveling party makeup. Nevertheless, adding some things to your "Must Do" list can be easy to do. Here are some you can start with.

    • Every attraction that has an Individual Lightning Lane, including TRON Lightcycle / Run, presented by Enterprise, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, is a good addition to your list. These are the newest, most advanced, and most exciting rides available.
    • Walk the World Showcase at EPCOT. Dining small bites from around the world as you shop from stores from Germany, Japan, Norway, England and so many other corners of the world can be as fun as any attraction ride.
    • Absorb the live shows that populate the parks. I love the Frozen Sing-along, Festival of the Lion King, and Feathered Friends in Flight!
    • Schedule an entertaining dining experience. I like Whispering Canyon Cafe, as well as 50's Prime Time Cafe as recommendations that should get you started with good food and good fun.
    BONUS TIP #1
You will want to purchase the Disney Genie+ system each day of this monumental trip. The Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane entrances provide you with a reduced wait time. You can choose the next available boarding time at any of the more than 40 attractions currently listed across the four parks. You book that next magical experience and then get to enjoy some other activities in the park until your arrival time comes. After that ride, you can pick your next attraction, and so on for the rest of that day. This will help you get more done each day!

    BONUS TIP #2
As you visit, start a list of things that appeal to you. That is a great starting point for planning out your day.

Please feel free to write me back directly with more information about what you like, and the experiences you hope to enjoy, and I can offer more specific recommendations.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
