Hey Howdy Hey Jeremy and welcome to planDisney!
WOW! 11 Days in
Walt Disney World Resort will be an epic vacation full of Magical memories with plenty of time to experience most, if not all, on your must-do list. Considering the length of your trip, I can totally relate to your concerns about the potential for a need to cut your trip short. Based on the terms and conditions of vacation packages, there are some details we need to review to get an idea of what to expect if a scenario like this comes up. Let's get to it!
So based on the
terms and conditions for vacation packages booked with Disney, the specific language states "No refunds will be made for early departure from hotel and unused or partially used admission tickets, options or features, including meals.". This also goes on to state that any refunds of any kind are at the sole discretion of Disney and specific requests need to be made within 90 days after the departure of the vacation for consideration as well as a processing fee of $25 applied (subject to change). So the big part of this is that it depends on the reason for the shortened stay and it is up to Disney to decide if that reason is valid to warrant a refund of any kind, including a credit for the part of the vacation you did not get to experience.
If you do have concerns that you may need to cut your vacation short for any reason, I would highly suggest you look into travel insurance. With travel insurance, policies are usually made specifically for this reason. If emergencies come up and they qualify in the policy you purchase, you will be reimbursed for the lost time as well as any other expenses specifically outlined in the policy. Disney does offer the option to purchase
travel insurance with any vacation package. One great benefit is you do not have to purchase right away but at the 30-day mark when you make your final payment. So you have some time to look over the policy and check to see if your concerns are specifically listed in the policy. You can also feel free to check online for other policies as well as the company you get your homeowners and/or car insurance from. Some companies that offer these policies do also have travel insurance you can look into and may receive a discount!
I hope this information helped give you some answers for greater peace of mind as you plan your trip. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out and let us know, we are happy to help!
Happy Planning,
Nick
