I am planning a 5-6 day vacation where lodging, transportation, entertainment and dining are all seamless for my two young children. I am willing to pay more for reliability, immersive storytelling, and family experiences. What are your recommendations?

    Hey Sarah,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you brought this fantastic question to us. As a frequent visitor of Walt Disney World, you’ve come to the right place for everything you’re looking for. There’s no destination quite like Disney World for young families. I’ll share a few ideas with you here, but know that you can’t go wrong planning your vacation at the Most Magical Place on Earth

First, think about where you’d like to stay. Budget and amenities should be your primary drivers when it comes to lodging. If more is more, deluxe resorts are the way to go. If you prefer a more simple stay and a great deal, value resorts will be your jam. All resort levels will deliver that amazing Disney magic we love. Book a vacation package so everything you’re planning can be seamless, and use the Special Offers page to search for deals.

Second, think about how many park days you’d like during your stay and use the Ticket Buying Guide to help you plan. My family loves to build in a resort day where we either lounge at our home resort or resort hop and visit other resorts. During the holidays this is especially fun while all the beautiful holiday decorations are up. While thinking about lodging and park days, give some thought to purchasing a Dining Plan. These are great ways to give your vacation an all-inclusive feel by including the cost of your meals up front, and during 2026 kids 9 and under eat free on either plan. We love not having to think about how much meals are during our stay.

Finally, give some thought to character interactions. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet characters in the parks, but you may want to consider character meals. These table service meals will give your little ones the chance to meet their favorite friends in a more relaxed environment with characters coming to them at your table instead of waiting in line. You’ll get great quality time with each character at your meal this way.

Disney World provides reliable transportation throughout the resort. You’ll get the biggest benefit of this by staying at a Disney Resort Collection hotel. Each Disney hotel has at least one dedicated transportation method available to get you to and from the parks and Disney Springs. As far as entertainment goes, while Magic Kingdom is considered the best park for young families (and with that I agree), we can’t leave out Hollywood Studios. Hollywood Studios offers so many great shows that your littles will love from Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage to For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. These are fantastic options to entertain your youngest Disney fans.

I hope this information is helpful, Sarah. If you have additional planning questions that I can help with, let me know. I’m happy to help. See ya real soon!
