I am planning a 4 day trip to WDW in Aug w/ kids ages 1&3. It looks like our flight home won't be until late afternoon. I'm a little worried about what to do that day with them once we check out - thinking of keeping them busy, naps, our luggage.Ideas?

Are you using the Magical Express, Lori?  If so, your scheduled departure will likely be three hours before your flight, so that might eat up a significant amount of your "extra" time right there.  You can also request late check-out.  There are no guarantees, but if it's available, it might be helpful.  Assuming late check-out is not available, you can always leave your luggage with bell services after you've physically checked-out of your room.  Bell services will hold it for you until you're ready to depart.  As for keeping the kids busy, you might consider visiting Downtown Disney.  There are some fountains there that the kids could maybe play in.  Tiring them out might ensure that they sleep on the plane.  You could also try walking them in strollers until they nodded off and then taking a seat in a shady spot under a tree for the duration of their naps.  Good luck!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
