We are planning an 8 day trip to Orlando & are staying at the polynesian the whole time but are only going to be in the Disney Parks 4 of our 8 days. I would like to get a DP but only for the 4 days we will actually be at the parks. How do we do that?

    Hi Kenneth,

Oh, that's a tricky question, but you have a few options here.  First, you should know that you can't purchase a Disney Dining Plan for only a portion of your reservation.  If you are staying seven nights, then you would have seven table service credits, seven quick service credits, and seven snacks per person per night of your reservation.  You either have the Disney Dining Plan for the entire time or not at all.

What some people do to get around this, however, is to split their stay at Walt Disney World.  I know folks who spend four nights at Disney's Polynesian with the Disney Dining Plan, for instance, and then spend three additional nights at Disney's Contemporary Resort without the Dining Plan.  If switching resorts (or potentially switching rooms within a resort) doesn't appeal to you, then this is not a good choice.

Another option you might want to consider is to purchase the Disney Dining Plan for the entire length of your stay, but use double table service credits at Signature Dining restaurants and spending your quick service credits for breakfast before you drive off property for the day.

Finally, you might find it easiest to just waive the Disney Dining Plan option and pay out-of-pocket for your meals.

    Good luck making your decision!
