Hi there am planning a 3 day trip to Disney world with my 3 young kids and my spouse. How much should l budget for and what are the best options for hotels and pricing. Thanks

Hi there, Grinnda - welcome to planDisney!

One of the magical things about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is that there is always something for everyone! Have a Star Wars fan and an unlimited budget - that's great! Want the most bang for your buck for a quick trip - can do! With so much to do, see, and eat, you're really in the driver's seat when it comes to the financial aspect of your vacation, Grinnda.

I suggest starting by comparing the different vacation packages at the Disney Resorts Collection hotels. That will help you get an idea of what level of accommodations are the right fit for your crew. There's everything from standard (but great!) rooms at Value Resorts all the way up to private Bungalows over the water at Deluxe Villa Resorts. These vacation packages will also include Theme Park Tickets in the total Room-and-Ticket Package price!

You will need to decide on some ticket options. For example, the standard tickets included in the package will let you visit one magical Theme Park per day. By adding the Park Hopper Option, you'll also be able to hop over to any other available Theme Park each day after 2 p.m.! The Park Hopper Plus Option adds visits to recreational activities like Water Parks and miniature golf (this can also be purchased without Park Hopper as the Water Parks and Sports Option).

Once you know what level of Resort you'd like to be at, I suggest thinking about where you want to spend most of your time when picking a specific Resort. For example, if you know you'll be spending a lot of time at EPCOT, a Resort within walking distance or with access to the Skyliner would be convenient. Or, if Magic Kingdom Park is where you'll mostly be living out your dreams, you might want to consider a Monorail Resort for easier transportation. Alternatively, you can pick based on the Resort's theming. Many Guests love to spend an entire day of their vacation just at their Resort, so take a look at the vibe and amenities to see what might be most enjoyable for your crew. My favorite is the Mediterranean flair of Disney's Riviera Resort!

Outside of that, you would want to estimate your own other expenses, including how much you'd spend on dining, shopping, and transportation between the Walt Disney World Resort and your home. There are also many wonderful travel professionals that can help you piece together a wonderful vacation - you may find it helpful to connect with someone local to you with Walt Disney World Resort expertise!

Grinnda, I hope this information is helpful. Please know that you can stop by any time with specific questions for our team of panelists!
