I am planning a 10 day family Disney trip (1st time for all). I know that I can book and make payments, but how does the deposit work? Do I pay a set deposit or does it depend on the number of people or rooms being booked?

    Hi, Dara!

When booking a Walt Disney World vacation, there are 2 different types of deposits.  If you book a "room only" reservation, you will need to place a deposit equal to one night's stay for each room booked.   The balance is due upon arrival at your vacation.

If you book a complete "Magic Your Way" package with room/tickets/dining then you need to place a $200 deposit to hold your reservation.  The balance is due 45 days prior to your arrival.  If you have multiple parties booking, each reservation needs its own deposit.

Hope this helps!  Have fun booking your Walt Disney World vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
