Hi, I am planning my daughters first trip to WDW I have a few questions as this is my first time planning. How far in advance can you start planning your trip? Can we pay for the trip through out the year up to the date?

    Hi Casey,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. So excited to know you are planning your daughters first vacation to Walt Disney World Resort. Let me help you with some hints and tips so you can truly discover how The Magic is Endless.

When is the best time to start planning? Now! I am already planning my vacations for 2018 and even thinking about 2019! You can actually make a room reservation up to 500 days in advance, but my suggestion is to book a Magic Your Way Vacation Package, which includes Theme Park Tickets and a stay at a Disney Resort Hotel. You can even add a Dining Plan, which is awesome as you can prepay for your meals and not have to worry about budgets.

A package only requires a $200 deposit, and the balance will be due 30 days prior to arrival. You can also make partial payments (minimum $20 at this time) prior to the pay-in-full date, with a major credit card, including Disney Rewards Visa Cards from Chase. And you can also make payments with Disney Gift Cards. For more help, visit the Planning your First Trip to Walt Disney World Resort guide.

One last tip: some warehouse clubs like Sam's Clubs typically sell Disney Gift Cards at a slight discount. Any savings mean more Disney Dollars to enjoy. Happy planning!
