Hi, we're planning our daughter's 1st birthday in Disney World in April first week or second week. Please guide us on how to chose theme park as we are not aware. And could you also suggest nice place to stay near by with our close families.

    Welcome Srichandan!

What a magical way to celebrate your daughter's first birthday! My oldest was one on his first visit to Walt Disney World Resort and it was certainly a memorable trip.  I have precious memories of him on Main Street, U.S.A. seeing the castle for the first time and his enthusiastic greeting for his pal Mickey Mouse.

Srichandan, Walt Disney World Resort has four theme parks which each feature a great selection of rides, attractions, and entertainment for Mousketeers who are both young and young at heart! If your visit allows, I would recommend making time to visit each one for at least a day to experience a bit of everything that Disney has to offer.  When in Magic Kingdom Park, you'll find the best selection of rides for your daughter.  Some of our favorites have been The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid. If she is a princess fan, she'll find some familiar faces throughout Word Showcase when visiting EPCOT.  We never miss a chance to say hi to Anna and Elsa in Norway!  At Disney's Hollywood Studios, there are several opportunities to enjoy the characters, stories, and music of Disney Junior including Disney Junior Play n' Dine Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine.  My boys also love to take a walk on the wild side at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.  Our must-do attraction?  Kilimanjaro Safaris!

As far as accommodations, you'll find more than two dozen hotels included in the Disney Resorts Collection with something for every interest and budget.  I enjoyed Disney's Contemporary Resort while my kids were in strollers as you can easily walk to Magic Kingdom Park and the character breakfast at Chef Mickey's inside the hotel is a kid favorite!  If you're looking for a room with some extra space, take a look at the Family Suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort.  These spacious rooms can sleep up to six adults and have two bathrooms.  In addition, guests here have easy access to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios via the Disney Skyliner.  There are also Royal Guest Rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside which are perfect for a birthday princess!

Character dining is always a popular choice and you'll find options throughout the parks and at resorts.  Besides the two I've already mentioned, The Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom Park has been one we've returned to time and time again to see Winnie the Pooh and his pals.  Remember, dining reservations open 60 days before your arrival and are highly recommended!

Srichandan, I'm sending lots of pixie dust for a magical birthday celebration!  Please stop by to see us again with any other questions you have!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
