Welcome to planDisney, Randy!
So happy to hEAR that you are planning an adventure on the high seas with your toddler in tow. Traveling with my kids when they were little really was such an important part of their childhoods that it became second nature to them. I haven’t regretted that decision one bit, and I hope you will feel the same way after your Disney cruise!
Good news: Disney Cruise Line makes
traveling with little ones a snap with complimentary diaper disposal units, bottle warmers, bottle sterilizers, cribs, and playpens (available upon request). Since these items are in limited supply, I would request them as soon as you board the ship at Guest Services (Deck 3, Midship). The only item you mentioned that Disney Cruise Line does not offer is a car seat, so plan to bring one of those from home.
As far as baby food, you are able to bring baby food and formula with you so long as they are pre-packaged and unopened. Also they must not require any food preparation from the kitchen. If your little one loves vegetables, fresh pureed veggies can be prepared upon request in the rotational dining rooms and via room service. There’s also plenty of fresh fruits like bananas that can be easily mashed.
Since you have a toddler, one area I would recommend is the water playground on your ship. Each ship has different names for them:
Nemo's Reef on the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy; Dory's Reef on the Disney Wonder; and Nephews' Splash Zone on the Disney Magic. These areas are always bustling with endless energy and lots of laughter!
As much as we want to make memories with our kids, it’s also important to carve out some grown-ups only time. With the
"it's a small world" nursery! for kids 3 and under, you have the opportunity to spend some solo time or as a couple in the adult-exclusive areas like the
Quiet Cove Pool or plan a romantic date night in
Palo.
Randy, drop a message in a BOTTLE to planDisney again. Wishing you and your crew a magical and memorable vacation at sea!
Happy Sailing!
