Hi Stacey!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you stopped by with your question about traveling out of
New York City! My family sailed from there this past fall and it was such a neat experience to see the skyline as we headed to sea; we also had an incredible view of the Statue of Liberty as the sun was setting making it very memorable!
Parking is available at the Port of Manhattan for the duration of your sailing. Porters are available to help you with your luggage and get them to the check-in terminal. You do not need to make reservations for parking at the terminal for the duration of your cruise; I would plan to get there around 10-10:30AM as other Guests will be disembarking that morning, freeing up parking spaces! Disney Cruise Line recommends The New York Marriott Marquis for Guests looking for a pre or post cruise hotel stay; contact Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 or your travel agent to inquire about any special rates they may have before or after your sailing. Otherwise, I would suggest looking for a hotel that is nearby the port (which is centrally located in Manhattan) that accommodates your needs and budget. That way you can have a leisurely morning before heading the short distance to the port for embarkation!
What fun you will have on this special
Very Merrytime sailing! I love the extra décor and activities that are onboard during the themed cruises; it really gets your holiday season started off in a magical and memorable way!
Thanks for stopping by and please come back with any other questions you may have as your planning continues!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
