Hi! Planning 1st cruise with kids(11,9 and 5). They're good swimmers but it will be their first time in ocean. What would be your top choices for port adventures in St. Marteen, St. Thomas (St. John) and Castaway Cay? Thanks!

    Ahoy, Renee!

You are going to have such a fun family adventure on your Disney cruise to the Eastern Caribbean! For the ages of your children, I recommend doing things at St. Maarten and St. Thomas/St. John which you can't do at Castaway Cay.

For instance, I would recommend the Doubloon Turtle Cove Sail & Snorkel at St. Thomas/St. John -- it looks like a pirate ship! Or, if you would rather try a touring Port Adventure, the Coral World and Butterfly Farm are big hits with families. The Tortola Dolphin Encounter is a great experience you can't get anywhere else on this itinerary and one of those memory-making excursions which your kids will never forget!

At St. Maarten, the See and Sea Island Tour and the Island Drive and Explorer Cruise are great choices for families wanting to explore. And at Castaway Cay, my favorite activity is to rent snorkel equipment and tubes or floats for enjoying the water. Then, I like to schedule a massage in one of the open-air cabanas or take a nap in a hammock while the kids enjoy the youth activities scheduled on the island by the ship's counselors. Our family has also come together for Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure -- a thrilling excursion for everyone!

I hope that gives you some ideas and let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
