Hello. We're planning our 2nd cruise and found the Mom's Panel so helpful with the first. My wife will be about 22 weeks pregnant at the time of our cruise. What documentation if any is actually required to show how far along she is at embarkation?

    Welcome Aboard, Scott!

I'm happy to hear you've booked your second sailing with Disney Cruise Line! Our very first cruise of any kind was with Disney, and I can't imagine cruising with anyone else. I've grown accustomed to the VIP service and attention to detail you receive on a Disney Cruise!

Congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family! I know you must be bubbling over with joy. While you're not required to provide DCL with any documentation to show how far along your wife is, I'll share with you Disney Cruise Line's official rules about sailing while pregnant:

"Women who have entered their 24th week of pregnancy as of their embarkation date or who will enter their 24th week of pregnancy during the cruise will be refused passage due to safety concerns. Neither a physician's medical statement nor a waiver of liability will be accepted. In addition, Disney Cruise Line cannot be held responsible or liable for any complications relating to pregnancy at any stage."

If it were me, I'd probably feel more comfortable bringing along a note from my physician stating my due date and how many weeks along I am. That way, if there was any question, I would have proof to show.

Best wishes to you and your future Mouseketeer! We'll be happy to answer any other questions you might have before you cruise. Thanks for using the Disney Parks Moms Panel as a planning resource!

    Have a magical day! - Diane W.
