Hi moms ! Planning a cruise first week of November now if I book a flight out of Orlando and it departs at 1046 am will we have time to make it there from port canaveral?

    Hi Danielle -

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel with your question. Your cruise in November will be here sooner than you know, and you'll be out partying with Captain Mickey and his crew at the sail away party.

Disembarkation day on the Disney Cruise is a pretty organized event. But as you can imagine, with a good amount of people getting off at the same place, it could be difficult to predict timing sometimes. The ship is normally docked and cleared by US Customs by around 7:30 am. This is around the same time that guests will be allowed to walk off the gangway and onto the port to Customs & the Baggage Claim area. Hopefully, your ground transportation will be ready to go and waiting for you by the exits at this time, to whisk you away to the airport.  You and your family will need to be quick about it, but it is possible for you to be one of the first ones off the ship that morning. If you are planning to exit first, it might be a better idea to have all your luggage with you when you disembark. In fact, you'll need to be in line (with your luggage in tow),  by the gangway exit before 7:30am. This way, you won't have to wait for all the collected luggage from the ship to be dropped off at the baggage claim area. If your luggage has wheels, it is do-able of course.

You'll need to allow 45 minutes to 1 hour to travel from Port Canaveral to the MCO airport, depending on traffic. Do keep in mind, that the security lines at MCO can be long sometime. Before you exit the ship, try to grab some breakfast at Cabanas' Breakfast Buffet. The opening time can vary, so make sure to check the Personal Navigator the night before so that you and the family don't miss breakfast.

Just in case you have an option though, you can have a more leisurely trip back to the airport if your flight can leave anytime after 1pm on disembarkation day. I hope this helps!

    Have a wonderful voyage!
