    We are planning on coming in Oct 2015 but we are on a budget. I plan on traveling closer to halloween. What are some perks of traveling then. I also want to make it special because my 4 year will be turning 5. What can we do for his bday?

    Hi Paula,

    October is a great time to visit because the temperatures are typically not too hot. The parks do start to get more crowded as you get closer to November, and during Columbus Day weekend, but it's usually not too crowded.

    The best event near Halloween is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, which takes place on select evenings at the Magic Kingdom. It is a separate ticketed event, but if you are looking for something special, that may be a good option.

    Another option for your son's birthday is a character meal. I really like Chef Mickey for celebrations, but the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom is another great choice.
