Hi! We are planning a Christmas trip to WDW this year -- considering Animal Kingdom Lodge. Will animals be on the savannahs in December? Also, are there any particular resorts that are more festive/decorated at Christmastime? Where would you recommend?

    Hello, Nannette,

Christmas at Walt Disney World is truly my favorite time to visit as it transforms into an even more magical and wonderful place!  While all of Walt Disney World is filled with holiday cheer, there are some resorts that I do find even more festive.

Disney's Grand Floridian is a treat for all the senses with its beautifully decorated Victorian Christmas tree and life-size gingerbread house. There are even roasted chestnuts for guests! Similarly, Disney's Wilderness Lodge is equally wonderful with its soaring Christmas tree in the lobby.  With its fireplace and rocking chairs, it is perfect place to sit and relax. Additionally, many resorts feature some jaw-dropping gingerbread displays that the Disney Parks Blog wrote about this Christmas.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is another holiday favorite for me with its spectacular tree in the lobby. In fact, this is a resort that am in awe of at every visit because it is so uniquely beautiful. You should find all the animals out and about unless it becomes unseasonably cold then some of the more fragile ones will have to be kept safe in a warmer environment.

Have a pixie-dusted trip! Please let us know if we can help again with your planning.
