    I am planning on cheering on my family in the marathon in January 2014 and trying to decide where to stay. Will the back entrance to Epcot be open that morning, making staying at the Epcot area hotels, a convenient option? Thanks!

    Hi Diana!

    Your family is very lucky to have you for a cheerleader!  The awesome support along the Disney World marathon route is amazing for all runners!

    The back entrance (International Gateway) will be open to Epcot during normal park hours.  And staying at one of the Epcot Resorts would be a very convenient way to see them toward the end of the race, and then walk through Epcot to the parking lot for the finish.  Just keep in mind that you would need park admission into Epcot to do this.

    The Epcot Resorts are my family's favorite places to stay.  The Beach Club and the Boardwalk are the two resorts we almost always choose.  Being that close to our favorite park, Epcot, is a huge benefit!  We love ending our nights with a quick walk into Epcot to get some pastries in France, and then catch the nightly Illuminations show!
