Hello, planning on going for a character meal at one of the resorts on New Years Eve, are the menu items usually the same?? Also is the price much higher on the holiday??

    Hi Liana!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

New Year's Eve is awesome at Walt Disney World, but it will be crowded.  Most likely, one or more of the parks will close due to capacity.  Thus you really want to be at the parks 30 to 60 minutes before their official opening time, especially if you want to go to the Magic Kingdom.  Once you are in a park, you should stay there until midnight!  That can make for a really long day!

Some of the restaurants do offer a special New Year's Eve menu, but most just have their regular menus.  Some will offer their regular menu plus something special for New Year's Eve.  Unfortunately, you will have to wait until closer to the holidays to know what special things are being offered.  Where ever you chose, you will definitely want to have an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR).  ADRs can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE and they can be made up to 180 days i n advance.

With regards to the price, holiday or seasonal pricing will be in place so the dining is more expensive than less busy times of the year.  Please keep that in mind and enjoy planning your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
