We are planning on celebrating our 50 wedding anniversary a year early. We are planning to celebrate with our son and his wife and 2 children. I’m aware of the park discount for disabled veterans but is the discount for Disney resorts?

Hi there, Raymond! Welcome to planDisney. We're so happy you stopped by!

I'm thrilled to hear you'll be celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary with your loved ones at Walt Disney World Resort! In my opinion, there's no better place to spend quality time together than with a celebration at The Most Magical Place on Earth. I'm wishing upon a star that your upcoming trip is filled with memories that will last a lifetime!

As a military spouse, I'd like to truly thank your husband and your family for your service. I love the way Walt Disney World Resort takes care of all of its Guests, including its service members! I'm happy to hear that you're already familiar with the Disney Military Salute Tickets, which can be purchased at Morale, Welfare, and Recreation at your local base or ordered through Shades of Green (personally, I like ordering through Shades of Green because they arrive activated and ready to be used!). Once you get your tickets, make sure that you link them to your My Disney Experience account and make your theme park reservations. Theme park reservations will be required until January 9, 2024, but will still be needed for tickets that aren't date-based, like Disney Military Salute Tickets (at the time of this writing).

However, Eligible Service Members are also offered great rates at select Disney Resort hotels! For more assistance, take a look at the Eligibility requirements. To book a room, all you need to do is call a Cast Member and ask them to help you find availability for you and your family. Have a few ideas of dates and Disney Resort hotels you'd like them to look up for you, but be flexible when you can! In my experience, we've had the best luck when our dates could be shifted by a day or two. Sometimes, this can open a whole new world of possibilities!

Please know that, at the time of this writing, offers for Eligible Service Members are currently available through 2023. In previous years, offers for the following year have opened up in mid-to-late fall. My best tip would be to keep an eye on the Special Offers page! Once you see special offers for US Military Members for 2024, I'd recommend booking as soon as you're able, as these offers have limited availability. You can also stay up-to-date by checking out the Disney Parks Blog, which always shares exciting announcements first!

I hope I was able to point you in the right direction today! If you have any other questions, please write to us again. And happy (early) anniversary!

You've got a friend in me,
    Michelle
