Hi there, Megan!
I'm glad you’re planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth during the
holiday season. It’s the merriest time of year to visit! Both theme parks will have lots of holiday-themed decor, attractions, food and entertainment. At Disneyland Park, highlights include Haunted Mansion Holiday, “it’s a small world” Holiday, A Christmas Fantasy Parade, and the “Believe...In Holiday Magic” Fireworks Spectacular. After the fireworks, “snow” falls in the skies above portions of the park, a special seasonal treat that I bet your daughter will love! At Disney California Adventure Park, don’t miss Disney Festival of Holidays and the special holiday decor and attractions in Cars Land with your little one.
The weather in Anaheim in late December and early January is generally mild, with temperatures in the high 60s to low 70s during the day and in the high 40s overnight. Afternoons can get warm while evenings are much cooler, so it is best to dress in layers and bring a jacket for the evenings after sundown. While the week before and after New Year’s Day can be a very popular time to visit the parks, I think you’ll be able to get quite a bit accomplished with some advance planning. Check out the theme park attractions list at disneyland.com and pick out the attractions you and your daughter want to make your highest priority. I also suggest
Disney MaxPass for a way to save time in line at popular attractions and make the most of your days. It enables you to make Disney FASTPASS selections right from your own mobile device with the Disneyland app!
I hope this helps, Megan. Please write back with more questions as your pixie-dusted planning continues!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
