Hello! I am planning on bringing my son to Disney World for his 3rd birthday (arriving the day before he turns 3). I know children under 3 are free but what would he be excluded from inside the parks because he hasn't yet turned 3?

    Hi Jamie,

Congratulations to the big birthday boy!  I loved bringing my children to Walt Disney World when they were under 3 years old.  You certainly can't beat free.  Be sure to stop by Guest Services at any of the theme parks to request a complimentary birthday button for your son to wear.  He will get a kick out of how many people will wish him happy birthday while you are in the theme parks.  My youngest will be turning 5 soon and he is very excited to wear his birthday button for the whole week we will be vacationing at Walt Disney World.  Where else can you celebrate your birthday for an entire week before your actual birthday?

Your child can participate in any attraction or ride in the theme parks in which he meets the height requirement.  He will not be excluded because of his age or because he doesn't have his own ticket.  I always like to measure my little ones right before vacation so I know which attractions in which they can participate and I recommend for other Moms to do the same.  After you know your child's height you can compare it to the information listed in this linked page:  Walt Disney World Attractions.  In the middle of the linked page are filters for items such as height.  Select the height filter that your son qualifies for and the results with the attractions that he can participate in will be listed for you to view.  Personally I like to also filter the results by each theme park.
