    We are planning on bringing our girls to Disney next January/February, they will be 4.5 and 2.5. I am training to run the half marathon, and was wondering if we would be better to enjoy Disney the week before or after the race? We will spend about 5 days.

    Hi Jessica!  How exciting!  The Princess Half Marathon is one of my favorite races!  I have actually done both scenarios.  I have been there the week before to visit parks, and I have stayed the week after.   I really didn't feel like either way was an issue.  I was concerned that walking so much in the days leading up to the race would tire me out, so I was careful to take it easy the day before the run.  We did a half day at a park, then had "chill-out" time at the resort in the afternoon with an early bedtime.  The only issue I had with playing at the parks the week after the race, was that I was a little sore walking.  However, it did not slow me down and once I got "warmed-up" at the parks, we had a blast...as usual!  And it is actually better to work through the soreness rather than keep your legs stiff. I think that either scenario would be fine!
    If I were you, I would maybe try and plan around President's Day weekend.  The parks seem to be more crowded that weekend than usual. So if the race next year is around that weekend, you could plan accordingly.  Good luck with your training!  See you at the START line!!
