I am planning on bringing my family Oct 16-22, there will be 3 adults and 5 kids. How do I figure out if it is cheaper for 2 rooms or one large suite?

The best way to figure out the most cost-effective configuration of rooms for your October trip is to call a travel agent or Disney Travel directly (407) WDISNEY to ask them to price several scenarios out for you.  For instance, ask them what two rooms at Disney's Wilderness Lodge would cost as compared to a two-bedroom villa at the neighboring Villas at Wilderness Lodge.  You could get them to see what two rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Resort would cost as compared to a Treehouse Villa at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.  They can suggest more and less expensive options, too, depending on your preferences.  The options are nearly endless, which is why I suggest speaking with a Disney vacation specialist who can give you prices quickly on the options you wish to consider.

Sending pixie dust your way as you plan your exciting October getaway!
