Hi! Planning to bring my daughter to Disneyland for a few days for her birthday early November and have lots of questions: what nights are fireworks? are parades happening? character dining? cakes? group ticket sales? are weekends more crowded? ETC...

Hi there, Anne! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your questions!

Celebrating a birthday at the Disneyland Resort is positively magical! Your daughter is going to have the time of her life! Depending on your travel dates in November, you may get to experience the official start of the The Holidays at the parks. The Holidays run from November 12, 2021 to January 9, 2022, but decorations start going up as soon as November 1st. During The Holidays you can enjoy all sorts of festive decor at both parks, A Christmas Fantasy Parade in Disneyland Park, and the Believe...in Holiday Magic nighttime spectacular. You'll want to check the entertainment schedule (populated about 30-45 days in advance) closer to your travel dates for showtimes.

Booking a character meal is a great way to celebrate a special day! There are currently a few options to choose from. Inside Disneyland Park is the Minnie and Friends - Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn. This is my favorite character meal because of all the different characters you can possibly see. Outside the parks, you can have breakfast or brunch with Mickey and friends at the Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet at Storytellers Cafe, eat breakfast or dinner with Goofy and his pals at Goofy's Kitchen, or meet and greet all your favorite princesses at Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures at Napa Rose. Keep in mind that the character interactions at these meals are currently modified to comply with health and safety standards. Advanced reservations are strongly recommended for all these meals and can be made up to 60 days in advance online or on the Disneyland app.

Finally, to top off a fun birthday dinner or lunch, consider ordering a celebration cake. These cakes are available to be delivered to your table at a few select restaurants. Simply add the celebration cake when you make your advanced dining reservation.

I hope your daughter has an absolutely wonderful time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
